Filezilla FTP – Connection Timeout Error

This quick guide will take you through the steps of potentially resolving a timeout error in Filezilla.  

Step 1 – Open FileZilla client

Step 2 – Click on Settings

Step 3 – Click Connection and set timeout in seconds

• Click OK to save settings

Step 4 – Connect to FTP site 

• Open Site Manager. 
• Click on ‘New Site’ button. 
•  You need to change the Encryption to ‘Only use plain FTP (insecure)’ and Logon Type to ‘Normal’. Enter host address, username and password and click the ‘Connect’ button.
